Set within the rustic charm of Owen House Wedding Barn, S & G’s wedding was a joyful countryside celebration, filled with colour, warmth, and a relaxed atmosphere. The floral design was created to sit effortlessly within the barn’s character, while reflecting the couple’s individual style: natural, expressive, and full of life.
Palette & Composition
A vibrant, garden-inspired palette brought energy to the day, with a thoughtful mix of tones layered throughout the designs. Each floral element was chosen to work in harmony with the venue’s rustic textures, allowing colour and form to shine without overwhelming the space.
Bridal Florals
My Bride’s bouquet was designed as a true celebration of variety and movement. Featuring over 16 different floral varieties including roses, phlox, daisies, lisianthus, clematis, veronica, and campanula, it captured the essence of a gathered garden. Pittosporum was carefully selected for the foliage, offering a softer green that complimented the lighter blooms, avoiding the heaviness of darker foliages such as ruscus, salal, or parvifolia. The result was a bouquet that felt abundant, airy, and full of detail and scent.
Ceremony Styling
The aisle was styled with collections of delicate bud vases and soft candlelight, each placed upon rustic oak slices to enhance the earthy, countryside feel. At the entrance, two large milk churns overflowing with florals created a welcoming focal point, setting the tone for a day that felt romantic and relaxed.
Reception Styling
A standout feature of the day was the 10ft suspended beam installation, dressed in foliage and florals that echoed the bridal bouquet. Designed to feel abundant and immersive, it brought height and impact to the space, becoming an instant talking point among guests.
The bud vases from the ceremony were thoughtfully repurposed to line the banquet-style tables. This was an intentional design choice, working with the slim proportions of the tables, a mix of vase styles created visual interest while ensuring the layout remained practical and comfortable for dining.
The Top Table
The top table carried through the same garden-led aesthetic, with florals arranged to feel natural and uncontrived, complementing the wider styling without overpowering it.
Finishing Touch
Every detail was considered to ensure the designs felt cohesive, from ceremony through to reception, while making the most of each element in a purposeful and sustainable way. The Mother of the Bride corsage was also specifically designed to match the overall wedding aesthetic.
Overall
The result was a wedding that felt vibrant, relaxed, and personal. By embracing colour, texture, and thoughtful design, S & G’s day perfectly balanced rustic countryside charm with a refined, garden-inspired charm.
